Mike Smerklo

Mike Smerklo is the Co-Founder & Managing Director of Next Coast Ventures, a venture capital firm founded in 2015. Mike has been active in the technology industry for over 20 years. Prior to Next Coast, Mike was Chairman & CEO of ServiceSource International, Inc. (SREV). While leading ServiceSource, he was named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Finalist in Northern California in 2010.  

He received his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS in Business at Miami University.

Dustin Sellers

Dustin Sellers is the Co-Founder & Managing Partner at Koa Capital Partners. Prior to that, he served as Co-Owner of ProService Hawaii and Managing Partner at Headland Partners. At ProService, Hawaii's largest HRO, he additionally served as Co-President, responsible for business development and marketing.

 

He and his business partner purchased ProService in 2005 via the Search Fund Model, which they grew from a fledging company of $13 million in annual revenue to $120 million with close to 20,000 client employees supported. 

Mark Egan

Mark Egan is a Founder & Managing Partner at Marion Equity Partners, a Boston-based investment firm. Prior to Marion, Mark focused on growth equity investments in the technology, healthcare, media, and business services industries at Polaris Venture Partners. Before Polaris, Mark began his career at Alta Communications where he executed investments in the media and telecommunications sectors. 

He received a degree in Finance from Fairfield University and an MBA from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. 

Bill Egan

Bill Egan is a Founder & General Partner of Alta Communications and Marion Equity Partners, Boston-based venture capital and private investment firms. He founded Alta's predecessor firm, Burr, Egan, Deleage & Co. in 1979, and has identified and backed several of America's leading growth companies in the information technology, life sciences, and communications industries. 

Bill is also an co-owner of the NBA's Boston Celtics professional basketball team. Bill received a degree in Economics from Fairfield University and an MBA from the Wharton School. 

Barry Reynolds

Barry Reynolds founded the San Francisco Office of Housatonic Partners in 1998. Previously, he worked with private equity firms, including Bain Capital, Texas Pacific Group, and Trident Capital, focusing on information and business services companies. Prior to becoming a principal in the private equity industry, he was a Manager with Bain & Company. 

He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and the Stanford Graduate School of Business, where he was a Ford Scholar. Mark Hilderbrand

Mark Hilderbrand has been a Managing Director at Housatonic Partners since 2006 and has more than 18 years of experience in private equity. Prior to Housatonic, he was a General Partner at Onset Ventures and a Vice President at Summit Partners, where he focused on recapitalizations and buyouts of high-growth technology and service businesses. Earlier in his career, he worked as a management consultant at Bain & Company. 

He holds a BS from Boston University, a MS from Stanford University, and a MBA from the Harvard Business School. Joe Niehaus

Joe Niehaus is a Managing Director at Housatonic Partners. He was a Managing Director at Hellman & Friedman before joining Housatonic Partners in 2001. During his twelve-year career at Hellman & Friedman, he was involved in several of the firm's recurring services, media and communications investments including Eller Media, Falcon Cable, and Mitchell International. Earlier in his career, Joe was employed in the Merchant Banking and Mergers and Acquisitions departments at Morgan Stanley & Co. 

Joe is a graduate of Darmouth College and the Harvard Business School. He is a Director of Fastener Distribution Holdings, LLC (formerly Aircraft Fasteners International, LLC); ResponseLink; Circle Graphics; 365 Data Centers; and HealthWyse. 

Mark McLaughlin

Mark McLaughlin is a private investor and adviser to lower middle-market companies. He is a former Principal at Housatonic Partners, where he led its investments in software and technology-enabled business models. Prior to Housatonic, he was a Vice President at Technology Crossover Ventures, Associate at TA Associates, and Consultant at Oliver Wyman.

 

Earlier in his career, Mark also worked at Sageview Capital and Wealthfront. He is a Director of Efficient Forms, a search fund-led operating company. 

Mark received an BA and MA, History from the Stanford University, and holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. 

Jamie Greene

Jamie Greene is a private investor and adviser to lower middle-market companies. He is a former Vice President at Housatonic Partners, where he led its investments in business services businesses. Jamie was more than seven years of direct investing experience with a particular focus on business services, healthcare, industrial, and software businesses. 

Earlier in his career, Jamie was an investor at Milestone Partners and an investment  banker in the Financial Sponsors Group at Morgan Stanley & Co. He is a Director of Accurate Monitoring and FIMC, two search fund-led operating companies. 

Jamie holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania. 

John Cote

John Cote is the Managing Partner of Sunny River Management, LLC, an operationally-focused investment firm backed by patient, long-term capital. He also serves as Chairman and CEO of Industrial Inspection & Analysis, Inc., an Atlanta-based national, diversified industrial inspection firm serving a wide variety of critical industries across the U.S. and Canada. John acquired the company in 2014 through the search fund model and has grown the company into a global company with approximately 350 employees and 16 offices through organic growth and strategic acquisitions. 

John graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University, and received an MBA the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.

Nathan Lewis

Nathan Lewis is the President & CEO of Security Capital Brokerage, Inc., an Atlanta-based investment bank providing securities brokerage, trading, and related financial services to professional managers, corporations, and municipalities.

Earlier in his career, Nathan was employed as an Vice President of Jackson Securities, Inc., investment banking at A.G. Edwards, and corporate treasury and capital markets at Nestle USA.

Nathan graduated with a BBA from The University of Georgia, received an MBA from Clark Atlanta University, and has studied Marketing and Investment Management at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School of Business.

Thomas Schulz

Thomas Schulz is the Founder & Managing Director of Brightvision Partners, an entrepreneurial investment firm focused on vertical and niche software companies. Prior to Brightvision, Thomas spent over 10 years in the Software industry in a variety of roles. Most recently, Thomas ran M&A at OpenText, one of the most successful publicly traded software consolidators. Prior to OpenText, he founded, operated and sold TalentDesk, a small SaaS company in the HR space. Thomas was also a General Manager at Sitecore and ran Corporate and Business Development at Informatica.

 

Earlier in his career, Thomas was part of HP's Strategy & Corporate development group. He has also spent time advising financial services clients at Deloitte. 

Greg Geronemus

Greg Geronemus is the Co-CEO of smarTours, a discount group tour provider specializing in high-quality packages to some of the world's most fascinating countries. 

Greg acquired the company in 2013 through the Search Fund Model. Prior to that, he evaluated and executed private investments within the Investment Management Division at Goldman Sachs. 

Greg earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BA in Economics, cum laude, from Harvard College.
